Lesser Black -backed Gull Rockledge, Fl |
Last weekend, I came across an enormous Great Black-backed Gull. This weekend I came across its lesser counterpart. This Lesser Black-backed Gull is most likely in its 3rd year as it still has some black on its bill. The lesser is a smaller, slimmer gull with a thinner bill and yellow legs. I spotted him visiting my neighbor's piling, which has had a quite a diverse group of guests in the past month.
beautiful shots. great light. perfect eye detail. :)

Hello Tammy,
ReplyDeleteNice bright image.
Wonderful with the beautiful blue background.
You make great shots.

Super portraits. We get Black-backed Gulls here (Japan) too but I don't know if they're lesser or greater. Nice job with the ids. Gulls and many seabirds actually, are the most difficult birds for me.
ReplyDeleteMy that bird look mean. we have some angry looking bird here, but he has seriously got out of the wrong side of the nest !!!!
ReplyDeleteLovely capture though Tammy
