The next Eastern Pondhawk I came across had an even larger appetite. The pondhawk was eating a female Needham's Skimmer.

The visit ended with a stop off at this pelican party.
Many other species arrived shortly after I did.
Good times!

Excellent post, Tammy! I have never seen dragonflies snack on such big insects before. Very interesting. Great detail and sharpness in these neat photographs! I love the pelican/spoonbill images. What a treat to see this beautiful grouping. I noticed a Tri-colored Heron in there as well. Awesome!

The pink spoonbills are my eyes delight as are the white pelicans and dragonflies.. especially those amazing eyes :)
