We spent the past week exploring the sights and sounds of Chicago. We saw this
Mallard family among the pads of the lily pool near Lincoln Park.
The ducklings made their way over and under the large floating mats.
They sure were adorable!
This
Green Heron was trying to get a better look at the approaching youngsters.
Nice set Tammy, wouldn't mind a Green Heron om my patch!

Sorry for not being as present as I would like on your blog (and others!) but I have been 'round and about as you saw on mine!
I have had a good look at your other posts, great stuff there too with of course a special interest in your 18th of July dragonfly!
I sure will look up what species it is!
I wish I could come back to the States just for those dragons!
Spots on the wings are quite scarce in France!
Well done & keep well!

ReplyDeleteI'm awestruck by the sheer beauty your photos reveal. The lily-pads set a wonderful contrast between the waters surface and the birds. Very magical like.
