They occasionally took a break to see if there was anything of interest around.
And then it was back to cleaning.
Until one decided it needed some space.
One Crested Caracara decided it was ready to move on and took off.
We decided to continue on with our walk. I turned around a short time later to see one approaching.
And it flew right over us!
Very nice birds Tammy ..... you have them good photographed.

ReplyDeleteOh, Tammy, what incredible shots of the Crested Cararas. I've never been able to get a good shot of them. I wish I could grasp the concepts that are required and had the money to spend on equipment. But instead, I'll just have to count on you!! I'm still showing everyone the picture of the sanderling you posted the other week. It blows me away!! Hope you are having a great weekend. ~karen

ReplyDeleteSo funny the way they seem to pose so similarly :) Your shots of the wings as it flies are stunning, such gorgeous feathers. They seem to be well banded too.
ReplyDeleteFantastic shots, Tammy! The flight photos are gorgeous! I think Caracaras are regal looking birds. I noticed the one has been banded several times.

ReplyDeleteTammy I'm so darn jealous! Seeing a caracara is at the top of my birdie wish list! I hate missing all those Florida birds, cannot wait to get back home, won't be long now, we fly out tonight and after my detour to N Calif will be back in FL on the 10th, yay! Anyway, these are such wonderful photos, thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteGreat shots of the couple! This bird is still on my list to get. I'm hoping to head inland some time this winter to look for them.
